Hamburger Casserole

A tasty hamburger casserole recipe cooked slowly in a crock pot allows time for a rich complex mixture of flavours to develop.



Ingredients:

1 ½ lbs / 700 g lean beef mince
3 medium potatoes, cubed
1 medium onion, thinly diced
3 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1 celery stalk, thinly diced
10 oz / 300 g frozen peas
1 tsp / 5 ml salt
¼ tsp / 1 ml pepper
10 oz / 280 ml tomato soup
2 tsp / 10 ml beef stock powder
½ cup / 125 ml water

Method:
Fry the beef mince in frying pan until browned. Drain well. Turn into 3.5 L ( 3 ½ quart) slow cooker.
Add next 7 ingredients. Stir.
Mix soup, stock powder, and water in bowl. Add to slow cooker. Stir, cover. Cook on Low for 8 – 10 hours or on High for 4 – 5 hours.

Makes 8 cups
