Chili con Carne
This chili con carne slow cooker recipe uses a mixture of herbs and spices that produce a pleasant mingling of flavours and aromas for which crock cooking is famous.
Ingredients:
2 pounds ground beef (chuck)
1 – 2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon onion flakes
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon cumin
½ teaspoon allspice
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon red pepper
1 ½ tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 can kidney beans (undrained)
1 can tomato paste
1 cup water
Safety: Do not use raw kidney beans.
Method:
Brown beef in a skillet, drain off excess fat. Put browned
meat into an electric cooker. Add remaining ingredients, stir. Cover and cook
on Low 6 -8 hours.
8 to 10 servings.
